Thanks, cache and cookies were the next thing I was going to look at. Don’t have the entire day to troubleshoot. I’m loathe to clear them though because of all the roadblocks it creates.
Appreciate you checking. I’m aware this is the free version. I’ve spent many hours on similar forums for other themes where the theme developers wrote in broken English and just didn’t show the professionalism for me to buy the pro version.
But this the developers proving ground right here. If there’s good support I may consider Spacious pro.
My point is this: With this large of a forum and so many themes, the developers have a big experience base where they probably see common issues. Surely there was some insight I could have gotten by now.
Little story. My Twitter pic wasn’t showing on my account with Buffer. Their top guy let me know that Firefox Quantum actually uses Disconnect, the add-on I’ve mentioned, as the tracking prevention engine built-in. They’d seen similar reports from account holders and figured out what was causing profile pic not appearing.
Simple, if you care. There’s always a solution.
Spacious was in the WordPress directory of themes. I felt fine about the company behind it. Theme is great. And works pretty flawlessly. Just this little mystery. And it was weird at first when all the links on my blog wouldn’t work after it loaded. That cleared somehow.
I’m here for your expertise. Telling me only what you see is not very helpful. I still have no social icons in Firefox. Do you ever dig further?
Since there seems to be only one moderator here and the conflicting time zones, I decided to troubleshoot it myself. That’s what all the posts above are. I tested 2 add-ons: Disconnect and Adblock Plus.
I have BOTH add-ons on Chrome too and my blog works just fine ON CHROME.
On Firefox I eliminated Disconnect as the source of the problem.
Also, prior to Spacious 1.5.2 I had NONE, ZERO of these issues with my Firefox with all the same add-ons.
What I see now is that the only way social icons are displayed is if Adblock Plus is:
1) Disabled totally for the entire blog.
2) Unchecking “Block social media icons tracking” in Adblock Plus settings.
That’s obviously not going to be good enough for me. This NEVER happened before.
Your theme works perfectly fine in Chrome with version 1.5.2 with the SAME ADD-ONS, and worked perfectly fine in Firefox too before latest upgrade.
Now with version 1.5.2 it stopped working in Firefox!
I don’t feel you’ve given my ANY support whatsoever. I’m doing all the work, asking all the questions and getting nothing from you. Very frustrating. Very.
Love the theme. First time needing support and it’s been so disappointing.
Social icons are STILL missing. I had to turn my computer back on just to catch you since you answer when it’s past midnight here. Please check why social icons at top right are missing. Only happens with Firefox.
Okay final update in Firefox: With Disconnect and Adblock on, links on my blog now work. The only way to get social icons is to turn Adblock off.
I also have another extension, Disconnect. In Firefox, if I whitelist my blog in Disconnect the links work! The social icons are still not there. This is with whitelisting in Disconnect and Adblock on.
I have the same two add-ons in Chrome and new version of Spacious is NOT giving me ANY trouble at all! No modifications need to be made.
I was wondering about that Frank and thanks. I was wondering if it’s my Firefox. But there are no updates to the browser and there are no updates to any of my add-ons.
So, I turned off Adblock Plus just now and yes my blog works, but that’s still a bug. Because it worked fine with Adblock just fine since I switched to this theme quite some time ago. And I have Adblock Plus on Chrome too and my blog is fine there with the extension turned on.
So, Rajesh where do we go from here?
Also can I roll it back once you go to my URL? How would I do this? Until there’s a solution. No one on Firefox is able to navigate my blog. And I don’t know when you’ll be able to tell me anything.
Yes I can do that. You should have a intro post on the forums stating what you require to troubleshoot. I could’ve included it in original posting. You know, to help with the time difference and getting timely answers.
