I have created my first post, and inserted into it is a URL to an image. On the homepage, that image does not show up, but when the post itself is clicked the image does show up. I’d like it to appear on the homepage as well. Is that possible, or is this a limitation of the Spacious theme?

My apologies, this has to be in here somewhere but my searching couldn’t find it.April 17, 2014 at 8:28 am #1671
In the home page, the summary (not all conten) of the posts is shown. And if if you click on any post it will show all the content form that post. We have designed the theme that way. If you want to control the summary, then go to that post in the dashboard area. Look for the excerpt option box. (If you don’t see it, look for the ‘Screen options’ button in the top right, click on it and check the ‘Excerpt’ box) Now you should see the excerpt option somewhere in your post editor page. Write you summary there and it will be shown in the home page. Hope this helps.April 17, 2014 at 5:22 pm #1732
Thank you for the assist! I cannot put an image in the Excerpt box, at least it isn’t obvious to me on how to do it. Maybe I could put it in with HTML? The Excerpt section doesn’t have the same edit tools available that the main article entry section has in order to Add Media.
Please consider allowing media in the summary on the homepage too, as well as the shortened version of the text. Maybe a checkbox to enable/disable it. It would add a lot of pop to the page to show the image as I’ve put it in there. It doesn’t have to be a photo gallery, but right now just getting started, my homepage is looking pretty bland. 🙂April 18, 2014 at 1:15 pm #1787
The option to show the ‘Full Content’ in the Home page, category pages is available in the pro vesion, you can upgrade to the pro version i if you like.
Also, in free version there is one more way to achieve that. For that create a page, in the page editor screen look for the ‘Page Attributes’ option box. In Template dropdown option, select the ‘Blog Full Content’ option and Publish the page. If you view this page you will see that all content of the post will be shown. Now, to make this page as the home page, you can go to Settings->Reading. Check on the Static page option and choose this same page as the front page in the drop down option. Save the changes. Hope this helps.April 18, 2014 at 9:06 pm #1829
Great – you made a sale! 🙂 I downloaded the .zip and installed spacious pro on to my WordPress website. Before I activate it, I wanted to see if I have to re-setup all of the options I built up with the free version. Does it copy settings and such over like an upgrade, or am I starting out fresh?April 19, 2014 at 2:55 am #1849
All the content, page, post, media will all be there unchanged or lost. Also, all the settings that you made in the Appearance->Theme Options will be unchanged.
You will have to reselect the custom menu that you may have created earlier in Appearance->Menu as the primary menu. Also, you may need to drag the widgets to the sidebars. You can activate the theme and if you have some problem, we will help you.
Also, thanks for purchasing our theme.May 8, 2014 at 11:03 am #3164

In the dashboard of Spacious Pro theme, you can go Appearance->Theme Options->Design Tab->Archive/Category/Index posts listing display type option.
Hope this helps.
