The slider on my homepage is not working since the last update anymore. I tried several times to update the homepage itself – it worked perfectly last time I encountered this issue -, but it now has no effect at all. Would you have any solution?
Thanks and happy holidays.December 31, 2018 at 5:26 am #1400112
Can you just edit that page and update and check once? And if it again does not work then, maybe check once deactivating the used plugin in your site too? Thanks.January 2, 2019 at 4:41 am #1400255
I’ve tried once again to update the homepage and then deactivated every plugin one after the other, but it still doesn’t work.January 2, 2019 at 4:44 am #1400291
Then, maybe provide us temporary login access to your site at: email@example.com to better check onto it about what is causing the issue? Thanks.January 3, 2019 at 5:11 am #1400330
Hi, thanks: I’ve sent you temporary access to the admin.January 3, 2019 at 5:11 am #1400450
In your site, it seems the required JS library for the slider is not loaded and hence the issue. So, maybe reinstall the theme in your site and see if that helps? Thanks.January 4, 2019 at 4:23 am #1400471
Thanks for this answer. Can I ask you what is the best way to reinstall the theme?
I actually have no clue how to do it and I am afraid that I might lose some configurations on my website if I do so.
(i only see “customize” in the admin)
Also, I don’t know if this is of any help, but WordPress keep asking me about “ThemeGrill Demo Importer”. The problem is that when I activate it, the website doesn’t work anymore (error 500). I have to go to the FTP and delete the file so I can access the website again.January 4, 2019 at 4:24 am #1400562
Can you follow this link: https://in.godaddy.com/help/update-a-wordpress-theme-with-ftp-26339 to install or update the theme via FTP credentials? Thanks.January 14, 2019 at 6:26 am #1401597
I’ve followed the link, tried several times (both through admin & ftp) and it didn’t work at all (I also tried to update the homepage everytime I reinstalled the theme). The slider is still not working… (i’ve reuploaded meanwhile my old copy of the theme)
By the way, I still can’t activate the “demo importer”. My host technical support says there is an error on line 125 in the file “demo-config.php”. Whereas I have also deleted and reinstalled several times the plugin. Might the slider not be working because of the lack of the plugin? I don’t know what the latter does.January 14, 2019 at 6:27 am #1401877
Regarding the demo import issue, can you visit via FTP ‘wp_install_directory/wp-content/uploads/tg-demo-pack’ folder and delete the files added there and check once? Thanks.January 15, 2019 at 4:51 am #1401957
I tried but it did nothing. Still getting an error 500 when I try to reinstall it. But anyways, if it is not necessary for the slider to work, I don’t need the demo import. This is really the first issue that I would like to fix. Everything was working fine until the theme update.
Also, I don’t know if it is of any help, but here is something I noticed:
– when I run the live editor on my homepage, the slider doesn’t work
– BUT when I use the “Customize your site” option in the admin, it works perfectly!January 15, 2019 at 4:52 am #1402043
It then might be eunqueue issue of the swiper JS. So, if you have dequeued any of the theme scripts then, can you remove those and check once? Thanks.January 17, 2019 at 5:24 am #1402231
I have same problem … BTW your own demo isn’t working 😉

I actually have not the slightest idea of what you mean. I virtually have no knowledge in JS. If there is any way I can check this and you tell me how, I will. But I have not dequeued anything myself (as I don’t know what it is and even less how to do it).January 17, 2019 at 5:26 am #1402440
That demo which you pointed is working fine. And due to no load of Swiper JS within your site, it is not working. Hope you have got it. Also, do you have any minification plugin added in your site? If you have then, can you regenerate those minified files and check? Also, if you have any of the CDN added for your site then, maybe give it a try once too, purging the CDN cache? Thanks.
