We really love your Esteem theme – it’s perfect for our little non-profit-website.
Is this a known issue?
Could you have a look at our site at www.fremdsein.ch and maybe help us?
Thanks a lot!
All the best,

While checking your site, it seems there’s an issue in our theme which we’ll check and fix in upcoming update. For now, you can fix it by enable search icon in your site.
If this fix doesn’t work, let us know again. Also, Glad to know that you liked our theme. 🙂

Thanks for you quick answer!
I hope, there will be a an update soon, that fixes this issue.
Where can I enable the search icon?
We use the search function in a footer widget. That works nice.
But I think, that’s not the point you mean?
Many thanks for your support!

It seems you’ve override header template from child theme. By default, there should be search icon in header after menu like our demo:
If you add that icon code from our theme’s
header.phpfile to your child theme, that should fix the issue. Thanks.

Perfect – found it, activated it and everything works againg!
Even with a “display:none” added to the search icon.
So it looks and works like before.
Thanks so much for your great support!
