Tagged: post display order

I have two issues.
1) I need to display the posts in our events website by the date that they happen, NOT by the date they are entered into the theme system. In the main menu at the top of the page, under the header area, we list the type of event categories available. When you click on a category it brings up a page that displays all of the posts for that category. The posts are displayed according to when they were entered. I need a way to display them chronologically according to the actual beginning date of each event/post.
2) When the category page displays the entered posts, it starts with the last page of posts, instead of the first page. It brings up the page but when you get to the bottom of the page, it displays a “previous” link. I need the display to start at the beginning of the posts and move forward to the last posts.
Thank you for your assistance. ColorMag Pro is a great theme!

If you are referring to display the first post posted on top then, there might be plugin available for same in WordPress plugin directory. So, can you search there and manage as needed? Thanks.December 11, 2018 at 4:08 am #1397760
I don’t know what you mean?
If you view the events (posts)by category, the events (posts) all come up in reverse order. The first page you see is the last page in the results. You have to go backwards through the posts to view them, instead of starting at the beginning and going forward.
Try it and you will see.
I need the order to be from the first page of results to the last.
As for an additional plugin, why would I need another piece of software to do something that your theme should logically do in the first place?
I will address the other question separately.
Thank you for your help.

WordPress by default, shows the last posted post within the site at top of other posts, which the theme is not allowed to do so and hence it is not available within the theme and we referred if you could search for the plugin in WordPress plugin directory. Hope you are clear on this. Thanks.December 14, 2018 at 3:57 am #1398219
I am NOT clear on this. You suggest that I find a plugin that could make the theme filter the results the way I need, but I cannot find one.
Contrary to what you stated, I know WordPress CAN do this because the theme we eliminated in favour of your’s DID do it. We paid the company to modify the theme and they did so. I was hoping you had a simpler answer because I have emailed your customization department but have received no response.
If you can help, I would be very appreciative.
Thank you very much.
