How do I modify the code to display full posts (not excerpts) on category pages?

    Hi @maddogmike,

You can show the full content in the category by going to the Appearance > Customize > Additional Options > Excerpt/Full Content Option and check the Show Full Post Content checkbox.

    Thanks.

Thanks. I did that already, but my custom fields weren’t showing up. I may have to change the code in a php file.

Which php doc should I look in for changing category display pages?

    Hi @maddogmike,

Can you describe what do you mean by ‘custom fields weren’t showing up’? The feature to show full content should work fine without any change in the PHP file. Also, if you have made changes in the code, please revert back the code. If not, can you provide us URL to your site so that we can inspect it and give you a proper solution?

    Thanks.

I’ve added custom fields in conjunction with the Advanced Custom Fields plugin, which display on individual posts because I added code to content-single.php.

    Here’s a sample post:

When I view a category page, my custom fields don’t show up. That makes sense, since the category page doesn’t know they exist. I’d like to hard code those fields back in, but I need to know where to add the code.

    Hi @maddogmike,

For changes in the category page, you can change in the template-parts/content.php file of the child theme.

    Thanks.

    Thanks, that helped!
