    How do I move a Post off of the Home page? I didn’t want to Trash it if that means delete it. I don’t see a ‘display on home page’ checkbox or option on the Post edit page to take it off and effectively ‘archive’ it?

    Hi Roger,

    Currently, there is no such option. However, you can use the custom css to hide specific posts on home page. Here’s what you can do, go to your Posts->All posts->Post that you want to hide in home pave. Ger to id of that post. Visit this link https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-find-post-category-tag-comments-or-user-id-in-wordpress/ on how to know the post id.
    Then say the two posts that you want to hide have ids like 66 and 51. Then go to custom css option and add the following css and save the changes.

    .home .post-66 { display: none; }
    .home .post-51 { display: none; }

    Hope this helps.

    So to understand the current situation, I cannot ‘hide’ a post that’s been there for say, a year, from the home page? It will linger for all eternity (or until the Sun supernovas)? Or I assume I can pick the ‘Static’ option for homepage and never see any of my posts.

    Thank you for the work around. That worked by the way.

    Older posts in the home page will appear in the pages like 2,3 or so on. This way only the latest posts will appear in the home page. To show the number of posts for one pagination you can go to Settings->Reading and set the Blog pages show at most. You might already know it, but just wanted to add this info.
