I’m very new to the whole blogging world and I have installed the Cenote theme (free).
I’m loving the look and feel of the theme – thank you themegrill.
I wanted to write a small introduction on the home page underneath the main image and thought this could be achieved with a sticky post – is there a way to have the one ‘introduction’ post stay at the top of the post log?
Or is there a better way to have an introduction on the home page that I have missed?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Glad to know that you liked our theme. 🙂
And yes, you can make the post sticky to make it appear first on your posts list.
Also, you might want to use our header image feature from customizer as shown in our demo which, I think, would work as an introduction to your site.
Please read our documentation if you prefer second option.
