    Hi…
    I’ve got error report on my google webmaster, missing author and missing updated. I have tried a couple of times to fix it but had no luck.

    write function only on my functions.php child theme, copy the functions.php from inc folder, etc. I read that i couldn’t just copy the file from inc parent folder to my child theme.

    I just need to add vcard word on span class author and add updated word on date. where should i put those changes (which file?)? And how to do it? reading so much tutorial make me so confused.

    Please help me. Can you tell me step by step how to do it clearly?

    Thank you.

    We have already solved this issue in previous version updates of the theme. So, can you check if you have the latest version of this theme added in your site? Also, if it is for page, then, you do not need to do anything on this since pages do not require these. Thanks.

    Hello Bishal,

    first of all, thank you for your hard great work.

    What do you mean with “you do not need to do anything on this since pages do not require these” ? Google Search console is tagging all the pages as elements with errors because pages doesn’t have the author and updated attributes (no problem with posts).

    I really don’t like to keep getting errors from Google as I add pages to my website. There is any way to add the author and updated attributes to pages too?

    Thank you very much in advance

    Hi..

    I’ve already checked the theme and i saw the “vcard” and “updated” added on functions.php. I’ll check the error report for a couple a days to see if there is any changes or not.

    Anyway, thank you so much for your explanation. I’ll post another reply as soon as I get the answer.

    That’s true, I also don’t like if any errors report occured on my google search console. That’s why I asked for the fix 🙂 Many articles said that doesn’t matter too, but i don’t want to keep that error too, i think there must be some way to fix it.

    I have the last version ( 1.1.5 ) and just a couple of examples with the Google testing tool:

    Page:

    attributes it has:
    @type
    hatom
    hentry
    @type
    hentry
    entry-title
    entry-content

    attributes it has:
    @type
    hatom
    hentry
    @type
    hentry
    entry-title
    entry-content
    updated
    published
    bookmark
    tag
    author
    @type
    hcard
    fn
    url

    Pages clearly have less info…

    Hello @tucocheelectrico-com,

    As already mentioned pages do not require those information but still if you want the pages to have same info as posts then create a child theme and clone page.php and then add the function colormag_entry_meta();.

    I have experienced the error myself as well. “Missing author” on every post on this page:https://rendite-vergleich.org/blog/

    Could you tell me if this error is also fixed in the current free version if the theme? google search console is still tagging each post with it, but might be only an update issue of google???

    @info1208

    It looks like you are using the Flash theme in your site and asking the issue in the ColorMag theme forum. So, from next time, can you post your query in the respective theme forum so that one theme forum would not get messed up with other? Anyway, that issue should not get show up for your site after some time, may be week or months since all of the required elements are already there. Thanks.
