I have set up my blog page to use the “alternate medium” template, but it is displaying the “large” template instead. Is there something I’m missing on how to use the alternate view?April 29, 2014 at 6:49 am #2538
Have a read on this instructions https://themegrill.com/theme-instruction/spacious/#blog
If still have problem let us know.April 29, 2014 at 12:00 pm #2568
Thanks. That’s what I’ve done… and it is showing the large image version rather than the smaller version. I’m not sure if it’s related, but my pages are showing the sidebar underneath the content even though I selected the full width with no sidebar view for that as well. I ended up having to delete sidebar in page php file. Can’t figure out why the blog page template won’t load.April 30, 2014 at 6:01 pm #2684
Can you provide link to you site and I will have a look. Also, I suggest you to not make changes directly to the theme files, use child theme instead for any code customization.May 2, 2014 at 5:47 am #2757
http://bphotoart.com/blog is the page that should have the medium image template applied.
I meant delete it by using a child theme. But would love to have a solution for why it isn’t removing automatically if i have selected no sidebars for pages.May 5, 2014 at 4:27 pm #2978
Please follow the instruction here https://themegrill.com/theme-instruction/spacious/#blog to set ‘Blog Image Medium’ template for a page. Also, make sure you do not set this same page as the posts page in Settings->Reading. This might be the situation in your case.May 5, 2014 at 5:02 pm #2982
Why can’t I have this page be my posts page? That doesn’t make sense to me — I want to change how the blog posts page looks. Is there another way to accomplish this and still have this page be set as the posts page?May 9, 2014 at 6:28 am #3245
We have designed the theme that way, the posts page that you set in Settings->Reading will have the large image followed by excerpts.
Now, if you want to show the medium image and excerpts then you will need to use the Blog Image medium template. demo here http://demo.themegrill.com/spacious/blog-image-medium/ and instruction https://themegrill.com/theme-instruction/spacious#blog. Now, if you choose the same page as posts page in Settings->Reading also set this same page as blog image medium template then the first one will overwrite and the page will show large image followed by excerpts. Hope this clarifies.
